Road Closings
Unfortunately the County must close roads or detour traffic while repairs and maintenance is ongoing. Road & Bridge Department will make every effort to post closings to accommodate traffic. Construction and Road Closing Information:
Starting May 26, 2026, the Road and Bridge asphalt crew will currently be working in the southeast quadrant of the county from Dartmouth blacktop east and south to the county line and north up to Odin blacktop. We are starting to haul asphalt in to overlay roads so there will be some minor road closures while there are ridges of asphalt on the road as well as work to be done overlaying the roads. There will be equipment, material, and workers in these areas so please use precaution when approaching these areas. Currently as of July 21, 2026, we will be finishing our overlay work in the upcoming days on NE 160 AVE between US HWY 56 and NE 10 RD. We will then move and begin hauling asphalt soon to NE 110 AVE between US HWY 56 and NE 10 RD. This will affect Hirsh Street in Ellinwood. We plan on hauling Hirsh Street in a day and laying the asphalt the next day. The day we lay the asphalt there will be a bit of time that access to parking and driveways on Hirsh will be limited. The City of Ellinwood will contact residences the day before this work will take place. Thank you for your cooperation.
On or about July 16, 2026, there is scheduled to be work done on a low water crossing located on NW 130 RD and NW 50 AVE just east of that intersection. NW 130 RD will be closed between NW 50 AVE and US 281 HWY while the work is being completed. Please avoid this area as vehicles will not be able to get through. Once the work is complete and the concrete has set the road will be re-opened. Please check back to see when this closure is updated. Thank you for your cooperation.
