NOXIOUS WEED DEPARTMENT
Department Responsibilities:
With agriculture being the largest industry in Barton County, we strive to provide the best service possible through professional service, consultation, recommendations, weed identification, and safety of chemical usage.
The Weed Department makes every effort to reduce noxious weeds with proper chemical treatments, safeguard crop production and pasture land, while considering the impact on the environment and financial resources vital to our community
Barton County provides noxious weed applications to cities, townships, the state, private landowners and county lands. Non-noxious weed control include chemical mowing and bare ground applications for the county as well as brush control measures for townships.
The Barton County Weed Department carries many responsibilities for vegetation/noxious weed control within its borders. Obviously, its priority is treatment and enforcement of noxious weeds.
Due to the lack of personnel we have indefinitely suspended the spraying of pasture ground. At this time we are only spraying county, state, and township right a ways. Please contact on alternative business to have your pasture ground sprayed. Thank you for your cooperation and sorry for any inconevnience this may cause.
