Immediate Intervention Program
The Immediate Intervention Program collaborates with county attorneys in the 20th Judicial District to improve the lives of young people. The program offers two types of diversion.
A pre-file diversion does not result in a court record, while a post-file diversion entails a court appearance.
Immediate Intervention also requires youth to report to Juvenile Services. The frequency of these visits depends on individual circumstances.
Classes cover a range of topics including, but not limited, to:
- Substance use
- Responsible behavior
- Dealing with difficult feelings
- Family relationships
- Building strong values
Young people can discuss the issues that affect them personally.
Juvenile Services staff members lead the classes, which are based on an evidence-based curriculum.
