Be Informed.  Prepare Now.

Protect Your Family and Your Property from Disasters.

The unexpected can happen at any time:  a fire, a chemical spill on the highway, severe thunderstorm, flooding, tornado, power outage, or some other emergency.  Local responders and officials can be overwhelmed after an emergency event, and may not be able to reach you right away.

What you do to prepare can make a difference!  Individuals who are prepared can be ready to take immediate actions during and after an emergency.

Your family is special, and your emergency plan should be too.  You and your family members should be ready to be self-sufficient for at least three days by providing for your own food, water, shelter and health needs.  Take time now to assemble an emergency supply kit for yourself, your family, and your pets.

Be aware of changing weather situations and select several methods for you to receive weather warnings – radio, television, Internet, text messaging or NOAA weather radio.

If disaster strikes, you will need critical documents to begin the recovery process.  Do you have vital records (birth, marriage certificate, Social Security card, vehicle and housing documents, medical information, etc.) stored in a safe location, and are you able to access paper or electronic copies if needed on short notice?  Take time now to safeguard critical documents and valuables.

Begin your emergency preparations now.
